- Review and understand the centralised Backup service
- Identify the single points of failure and areas requiring improvement
- Review the systems operation and maintenance procedures
- Including Backups, housekeeping, security, data management
- Performance audit and tuning
- Skills audit and gap analysis on operation, maintenance, availability monitoring, capacity monitoring and management, performance management
- Training recommendations
- Build up a capacity model allowing capacity projections.
- Tools recommendations
- How to enable setting up policies presenting different recovery point objectives and recovery time objectives.
- Recommend tactical and strategic improvements with associated costs
- In particular, recommend improvements for Disaster Recovery and backup/restore service, and cost the options (in house vs managed).
